This interactive workshop aims to provide structure and context, beneficial to advisors building investment solutions for clients, and answer why you too should investigate how the implementation of these strategies could be of value.
About our three key note speakers:
Steven Glass, Portfolio Manager, Pengana International Equities Fund
Steve is Portfolio Manager of the Pengana International Equities Fund and has over thirteen years’ experience as a portfolio manager and equities analyst.
Prior to joining Pengana, Steven spent seven years at Hunter Hall International as an investment analyst and portfolio manager.
Prior to Hunter Hall Steven worked as an equities analyst at Tricom Securities and as an investment analyst at Platinum Funds Management.
Steven was awarded a Co-op scholarship at the University of New South Wales, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Merit), majoring in Accounting & Finance, and a Masters of Commerce, majoring in Advanced Finance.
He has completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and has been awarded the CFA Charter.
Alan Sheen, Co-founder, Partner and Portfolio Manager, Dalton Street Capital
Most recently, Alan was Head of Proprietary Trading for Credit Suisse Australia managing systematic investing and trading across the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Alan held positions of Portfolio Manager at AMP Capital Investors, Chief Investment Officer at Challenger Ltd and Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director at Austock Asset Management.
Alan has been responsible for managing funds and businesses with up to $16 billion in funds under management and teams of more than 40 investment professionals. Alan commenced trading equities, futures and options in 1996.
Chris Bedingfield, Principal and Portfolio Manager, Bennelong Funds/Quay Global Investors
Chris has over 21 years experience working as a real estate specialist with a background in investment banking and equities research. Prior to co-founding Quay, Chris was in the Real Estate Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse in Sydney and previously Head of Real Estate Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank.
In prior roles, Chris led real estate equities research teams at Deutsche Bank, HSBC James Capel and ANZ McCaughan.
He is experienced in equity and equity-linked capital markets transactions, M&A and debt issuance, with direct involvement in numerous cross border real estate transactions between Australia and the USA, Europe, Japan, UK, Brazil and Singapore.
Chris has also led many large and transformational transactions for clients including Westfield, GDI Property Group, Tishman Speyer, Dexus, Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank, Mirvac Group, Principal and Colonial First State.
Following the presentations, a panel discussion made up of Advisers and Asset Consultants will discuss in detail whether these new strategies are challenging the way we currently build solutions for clients, how do we build them into portfolios, how do we track and measure these types of strategies and how have these strategies been implemented into portfolio solutions.
